7. Payments, Verification, and Platform Practices

Payments, Security Deposits, and Refunds
Rentlefy facilitates rental transactions and uses third-party payment processors to handle payments securely. Rentlefy does not operate as a bank, financial institution, money transfer service, or digital wallet provider. Payment processing is handled by authorized third-party payment processors such as PayMongo.
Certain rentals may require a refundable security deposit. Security deposits are collected and tracked as part of the rental transaction and may be refunded, released, or adjusted according to the platform’s rental policies.
Refunds may be processed through the original payment method used during the transaction, subject to the applicable cancellation and refund policies.
We may retain records of rental bookings, rental payments, security deposits, booking refunds, transaction history, refund requests, disputes, and related payment statuses for operations, legal compliance, fraud prevention, customer support, and auditing.
Identity Verification and Documents
To promote trust, safety, and compliance, we may request identity verification or supporting documents based on rental category, transaction value, or risk level. This may include government-issued IDs, driver’s licenses, passports, vehicle registration, proof of ownership, signed rental agreements, or other reasonably required documents.
Verification documents are used only for identity verification, fraud prevention, transaction security, dispute resolution, compliance, and platform safety. They are stored in secure systems with restricted access and are not publicly displayed on the Platform.
Rental Records and Dispute Resolution
To facilitate rentals and resolve disputes, we may collect and retain information related to bookings, rental schedules, payments, security deposits, refund requests, in-app messages, uploaded photos and evidence, and user reports. This information may be used to investigate disputes, verify transaction history, enforce policies, prevent fraud, protect users, and meet legal obligations.
Marketplace Role
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Rentlefy does not own, store, manufacture, deliver, inspect, maintain, or guarantee products or services listed by users. We provide technology that helps users connect and transact; rental agreements are between the participating users, subject to our Terms of Service and applicable policies.
Fraud Prevention and Platform Security
We may use automated systems, manual reviews, verification procedures, account monitoring, and other security measures to detect fraud, prevent unauthorized access, verify identities, monitor suspicious activity, enforce listing policies, and maintain marketplace safety. Users who engage in fraudulent, misleading, illegal, or prohibited activity may face account restrictions, suspension, termination, reporting to authorities, or other actions permitted by law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Rentlefy is not intended for children under 13 years old (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed or stored in countries outside your jurisdiction where our service providers operate. By using Rentlefy, you consent to such transfers where legally permitted.
